Friends of Witchcraft

We support the valuable work of the Museum of Witchcraft in Boscastle. A valuable resource for the entire magical, witchcraft and pagan community.

We were able to launch Datura at the Museum and have appreciated the support of the museum to whom we donate copies of all our titles as a resource for researchers.

This is the time of year when renewals of the 'Friends' membership comes around and we think it is a worthy cause to support. http://friendsbmw.org.uk/

Membership entitles you to free annual admission to the Museum, invitations to
special 'Friends' events (AGM and Get Together, talks, seminars etc), twice yearly newsletters, priority access to the Museum and Library for research and the opportunity to do volunteer work at the Museum.

During the last year 'Friends' has supported the Museum with a number of important purchases.  £1300 was donated for Mylar sleeves and boxes and other archival equipment, alongside funding for the recalibration of the Museum humidity monitors, an expensive but critical task to ensure the stability of humidity around the exhibits.  'Friends' has also contributed towards the purchase of important books for the Library.

The Museum opens for the new season on 31st March 2012, and Hunters Moon Morris will be returning to dance in front of the Museum on Easter Sunday, 8thApril.

The Museum staff have been busy updating and adding to the displays, and we have just finished planning their next event, “A Charming and Magical Day”, a day of talks on witchcraft, magic and charms to be held on 19th May 2012.  Geraldine Beskin will be speaking on “Women of the Golden Dawn” alongside Felicity Powell on “The Charmed Life of Edward Lovett” and Jason Karl on “The Magic of Pendle Past and Present”, along with a film show from the Museum archive.  For information please check the website: http://www.museumofwitchcraft.com/

Saturday November 10th 2012 - is the annual Get-Together and AGM at the Wellington Hotel in Boscastle.  A great combination of fascinating speakers, insight into the work of the Museum and a chance to catch up with old friends and new.
Peter Grey will be speaking at the event on Witchcraft and the Grimoires. As usual, this is a “Friends” only event, with free entrance to all members.
